Meadow End Barn is a converted barn in Dorstone in the Golden Valley, close to the border town of Hay-on-Wye and 15 miles from Hereford. Ideal for families, or for groups of friends to enjoy a rural retreat together.

The house is set in beautiful unspoilt countryside, close to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. This is a great area for walking and canoeing on the River Wye, and the famous town of Hay-on-Wye, known for its literary festival, is close by and well worth a visit. It's also in walking distance of the village pub.

Meadow End has its own private courtyard and garden with a stone table for outside dining, and a field and lake.

“Excellent experience from booking, through communication pre-arrival and whilst we were staying in the barn. Very well-equipped and set up for a group of couples or large family groups. Really spacious living areas, comfortable seating. Great to have three ensuite bedrooms plus two further bathrooms. Walled garden at rear was delightful and safe for dogs and children. Coralie was a delightful host, very quick to respond. Great to have supplies of everything like washing detergent, washing up liquid, loo rolls in plentiful quantities. Very short walk to excellent local pub. Lots of great walks from the doorstep. We’d love to return.”

“The star of the show is the living space on the 1st floor, the old wooden beams and the height of the roof, the little bedroom in the pitch of the roof up a spiral staircase, big squashy armchairs and books everywhere. The weather was good enough for us to have a barbecue outside with the house martins shooting back and fore into their nests in the eaves. It was hard to tear ourselves away. “Fabulous house, being an upside down arrangement, we had lovely views from first floor kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen well stocked with equipment, crockery, glasses. Lovely decor throughout. Top mezzanine bedroom was brilliant idea. Great bedrooms, comfy beds, nice linen and smart bathrooms. Lovely garden, very nice village. Plenty of places to visit locally. Coralie was very helpful and seems to have thought of everything needed for a nice stay in a lovely house. Very clean and safe. Highly recommend for a group/family trip.”
